Bessie Smith was born on April 15, 1894 in Chattahooga, Tennessee. Bessie Smith Was the greatest blue singers. She made
more than 150 songs. When her family was poor and she wanted to sing, Ma Rainey helped Bessie Smith singing. She made her
first recordings "Down Hearted Blues" and "Gulf coast blues" in Feburary, 1923. Bessie Smith died on September 16, 1937 while
she was goin' to the hospital because she was in a car crash and the nearest hospital was a white hospital and they
didn't accept her.
